Practical Information
Parking is free in Ypres on November 11. Please note that the city center is a parking-restricted zone from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Use the outlying parking lots and then walk into Ypres. Avoid the area around the Menin Gate and use the Poterne Bridge (Poternebrug) if you park in the area of the sports hall / Leopold III Avenue.
Parking spaces on Janseniusstraat and Sint-Maartensplein are reserved for invited guests. Only those with an official parking pass may use these spaces.
Parking for people with disabilities: Surmont de Volsberghestraat —area near Astrid Park. The parking zone is marked with temporary signage. Place the blue parking permit clearly on the car’s dashboard.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on VRT 1. A screen has been set up on the Grote Markt to provide the best view of the ceremony taking place under the Menin Gate.
