Hiking Network

Walking network Ypres Arch South

Once you have tasted the scenic and cultural-historical richness of the wooded area south of Ypres, you will never get tired of it. Provinciedomein Palingbeek, the Verdronken Weiden and Zillebekevijver form the basis of the network. Explore and step through the rolling landscapes, the meadows, hedges, rows of pollarded trees, pools, small woods, beautiful farms and the typical villages of our charming Westhoek.

New in Wandelnetwerk Ieperboog Zuid are extensions in the center of Ypres and Provinciedomein Palingbeek. In the provincial domain some new unpaved roads are being cut. The brand-new Jan Yperman Park in the borough of Sint-Jan is also included in the network.

Walking network Ypres Arch East

Slow roads take you along open plains and through beautiful forests with a rich past. The First World War is recognizably present. The Road to Passchendaele leads to Tyne Cot Cemetery, the largest British military cemetery in the world. You'll find many more UNESCO World Heritage-protected sites in this former front region such as the Polygon Wood Cemetery, the Buttes New British Cemetery and the iconic Canadian monument "The Brooding Soldier," the weeping soldier. Grapes ripen on vines on the slopes of the gently rolling valleys in the Ypres East hiking network. Atop the crest of the hills, you enjoy magnificent vistas. The Basilica of Dadizele and the castle park of Zonnebeke form beacons in this varied landscape. The walking network connects at several points with the walking network Ypres Arch South.
