The Kazematten city brewery in Ypres is located beneath the fortifications that surround the city. The unique historic Kazematten of the “Houten Paard” (Wooden Horse) at the Rijselpoort have been transformed into an authentic brewery and have been the setting for Wipers Times beers since 2014. It was from this location that British soldiers published their satirical magazine “The Wipers Times” during the First World War.

The brewery is open to individual visitors every Saturday at 4 p.m.

For 14 euros per person, you get a guided tour and three tastings.
