Manfred von Richthofen, born in 1892 in Germany, grew to become one of the most successful fighter pilots of WWI.
He began as an observer, but soon developed a passion for flying and became the leader of a feared fighter squadron. In April 1918, he was killed over enemy territory.
In the exhibition you will discover his impressive life story through authentic objects, unique photographs and original documents. In addition, we also show a film with exclusive footage of his presence in Flanders and France.
Out of fascination for his story, we have released a limited edition book that goes even deeper into the themes of the exhibition. Ideal for rediscovering everything at home! Interested? You can find the book at the entrance of our museum.
