"La Route des Géants" Cycling Race
Since 2016, the Royal Ypres Cycling Club has been supporting the international junior race La Route des Géants.
The name refers to the rich tradition of giants in both Ypres and its French sister city, Saint-Omer.
During the first four editions, in collaboration with Vélo Club Saint-Omer, the start and finish alternated between Ypres and Saint-Omer. Since 2022, Ypres has been both the start and finish location, and the Kemmelberg—which must be climbed three times—is the decisive challenge.
